Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Division Manager, oversees a group of 8-10 stores and ensures that the overall store condition complies with company standards including, but not limited to: cleanliness, foodservice sanitation, customer service and merchandising – thereby maximizing gasoline, merchandise, and foodservice sales, as well as total operational profits. Fosters an environment of meritocracy in which employees want to excel and are recognized for their achievements.

  • Coaches and develops store managers on establishing plans to help them achieve or exceed their store budget.
  • Coaches and develops store mangers on establishing plans to help them achieve foodservice goals.
  • Ensures that each food service operation in assigned area is maximizing sales and profits. Identifies and addresses any margins below expected levels. 
  • Ensures that all food service charts and forms are followed and completed as required.
  •  Focus on exceeding customer expectations on each and every occasion. Identify and communicate opportunities to improve customer service. Encourage all store personnel to resolve issues on the spot.
  • Sets high standards and demands excellence in execution from store management team. Sets goals and objectives for area that will ensure exceptional financial results. Monitors the performance and results of store management team and makes necessary modifications. Holds store management team accountable and correct poor performance through the counseling system.
  • Effectively manage direct reports through effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring. Execute Human Resource programs within area and ensure proper staffing levels through the selection, recruitment, training, development, and evaluation of qualified Store Managers. Anticipate and address issues that may contribute to excessive turnover.
  • Analyze financial data, including but not limited to, store profit and loss statements, product movement, shift analysis, labor management, merchandise and cash shortage, and all other available data to ensure area sales and profits are maximized.
  • Conduct regular store visits in accordance with established policies to ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures. Particular emphasis must be placed on ensuring quality and consistent implementation of all marketing, merchandising, foodservice and gasoline programs, maintaining a top-of-the-mind awareness of safety and security, and maintaining a high level of store appearance.
  • Ensure that all labor management tools are effectively implemented and that area labor targets are achieved. Ensure that allocated store staffing hours are properly scheduled to provide the best possible level of customer service.
  • Encourage open communication by actively listening to the ideas and suggestions of others. Share information about why decisions are made. Initiates honest/candid conversations with others and does not delay or avoid them.
  • Demonstrate the initiative, energy, and tenacity necessary to be an effective problem solver. Maintain a positive attitude in the face of difficult times.
  • Ensure expectations are clearly stated and that viable action plans are developed and implemented to deliver results. Keep direct reports focused on critical objectives.
  • Bring out the best in direct reports by regularly recognizing exemplary performance. Must also regularly analyze and address performance issues utilizing an effective progressive corrective action process. Conduct regular and timely performance evaluations.
  • Conduct regular area meetings with store management. Attend and actively participate in Division and Corporate meetings.
  • Ensures all store employees receive regular and timely performance reviews.
  • Ensures PAR’s are completed accurately and submitted timely.
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Consistently meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensure equipment, property, and facilities are properly maintained.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local and/or governmental regulatory compliance issues.
  • Comply with any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications

High School diploma (or equivalent) and three years management experience or four year college degree
Multi-unit experience preferred with demonstrated customer service skills
Ability to manage others; excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Mathematical and analytical skills
Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office products preferred)
