Buck Days, a Whirlwind of Community Involvement By Stripes

For this year’s Buc Day Stripes pioneered a whirl wind celebration. Our involvement in this community event started with the selling of discount tickets at all Coastal Bend Stripes stores. The Buc Day organization provided two incentive prize packages for the store managers who sold the most tickets. For every 10 tickets sold the store manager’s name was placed in a drawing, the winning names drawn were Albert Reyna from store #7056 and Randy Felan from store #2165, whom each won a cruise for two people.

Stripes also sponsored the Stripes Carnival and participated with a float in the Illuminated night parade. The Stripes float, which took first place in the parade, was built by Floyd Roschesky and William Asbury and was themed: Where in the world is Jolly Roger? He’s at Stripes. The parade volunteers included: Floyd Roschesky, William Asbury, Mathew Bel, Linda Nixon, Mary Helen Guerrero, Karltane’e Franklin, Armando Hinojosa, Lindsey Van Dorn, Linda Manka, and Lucinda Rodela.

Stripes also participated in the Buc Days Jr. Parade, with a fire truck float that was decorated by Floyd Roschesky and William Asbury and took first place!
