The Corpus Christi Hooks celebrated Mascot Day at Whataburger Field on Sunday, July 15. Gates opened at 4:30 p.m. where many fans where able to mix and mingle with all the mascots including our very own Stripes Cup, Hot Dog, Laredo Taco, and Café de la Casa Mug.
They posed for pictures, showed their best tricks, signed autographs, and gave a few high fives. Later on, the
competition began as the Mascot Olympics started in between breaks of the baseball game.

STRIPES definitely had a big presence as almost all of our Mascot Team was represented in the two competing opposite teams – Team Rusty and Team Sammy. Some of the featured competitions where a Tug-o-War, a relay race in which the Stripes Hot Dog outran many others, the 6-legged race where Café de la Casa Mug took a tumble but managed to pick himself up to finish, a party patrol where Stripes Cup managed to shoot a few t-shirts high up in the air, and an indisputable Dance-off where the Laredo Taco busted everybody’s moves.

It was a hard working day for all the Mascots who poured out all their sweat and tears to prevail among tough competitors. Nevertheless, it was a day filled with fun memories and laughter. Check out our photo gallery for candid moments of Mascot Day with the CC Hooks.
